Located in Beverly, a northern seaport town of Massachusetts and home of General George Washington's Naval Base. The Schooner "HANNAH" was equipped, outfitted and armed in Beverly and commissioned by General Washington Sept. 2, 1775. She set sail Sept. 5, 1775 and captured her first prize Sept. 7, 1775.

Beverly, the "Garden City" was settled in 1626 and named by Roger Conant in 1668 after a town in Yorkshire, England. It includes the "Gold Coast" areas of Beverly Farms, Prides Crossings, Ryal Side and Goat Hill, and the location of President William Howard Taft's summer home (Lynch Park).
